The perfect bitrate for every video

Bitrate is the #1 factor behind video quality, so choosing the right bitrate is essential. But knowing a video's resolution isn't enough. To pick the best bitrate, you actually have to make decisions frame-by-frame. Zencoderʼs advanced rate control systems ensure the best bitrate for a target visual quality, based on resolution, visual complexity, and psychovisual factors.

Corrupted video? No problem.

Video is notoriously non-standard. Errors and corruption can be introduced at many levels, from capture to editing to compression. Other encoders simply reject corrupt video, or pass the corruption along to the next level. Zencoderʼs technology automatically detects and heals dozens of types of video and audio file corruption, giving Zencoder a higher encoding success rate than just about anyone.

Resampling an audio track usually creates audible artifacts and quality degredation. But our encoding platform uses high fidelity audio resampling algorithms to ensure that an audio track sounds as good after resampling as it did before. You can also normalize levels, control gain, compress or expand dynamic range, and apply advanced audio filters.

Normalize video for online playback

Most video isn't designed for web playback. Without adjusting for some common video issues, such as interlacing, rotation, and non-square pixel aspect ratios, you'll end up with video that doesn't look right. That's why our Source Normalization feature automatically detects and normalizes display problems, creating video that will play anywhere: on the web, a mobile device, or even on a TV.

Universal Format Decoder

No single video decoder can handle every file. We utilize a custom compound decoding chain for both video and audio files that enables us to support nearly every video format imaginable.
